Safety Tips

Before you go on a holiday, here are few tips to keep your home safe.

  • Switch off the water pump and electricity in your premises before leaving.
  • Ensure the doors and windows of your premises are properly locked and secured.
  • Leave a key with a family friend or relative to check on your home in case of long travels.
  • You may also inform the building security and provide them with contact details of your family friend or relative who can be reached in case of any emergency while you are away.

 

 

It's important that you and your family members are aware of all types of potential home fires, and how they're doused correctly should they occur. All the units are equipped with  a fire extinguisher and blanket that should be kept accessible at all times in case of an emergency.

  • Implement a fire emergency plan so your family members are aware in case of an emergency.
  • Allocate a member of the family to wake children, elderly and those with disabilities
  • Train every member of your family on the emergency evacuation procedures.
  • You can also practice fire safety techniques together, like staying low to the ground and when not to open a door during a fire.

 

As warmer weather and swim season approaches, here are some safety tips for you and your family.

  • Shower before you enter the pool.
  • Check if the lifeguard is present at the pool before you start swimming. 
  • Children should always be supervised by guardian or a parent
  • Take children on bathroom break regularly and check diapers in case of infants.
  • Avoid going for swimming after a heavy meal.
  • Avoid going for a swim if you are sick or have an infection to prevent spreading the disease.

 

  • Alterations to window restrictors and balcony railings are not allowed as it tampers with the safety features.
  • Never leave children or people of determination unsupervised in the balconies, near windows, railings, and terraces.
  • Avoid keeping any furniture or other elements that can be used as a ladder as it imposes a significant threat on children, who can use this to climb high on the balcony.
  • Always ensure that the doors and access to balconies are properly locked and secured.
  • Maintain Roof and Drainage Systems: Regular maintenance of your roof and drainage systems which includes balconies and terraces is crucial to avoid overflow of water.
  • Inspect Doors and Windows: Rainwater can enter through gaps in windows and doors, leading to moisture issues inside your home. Please utilize methods such as weatherproof sealant, caulk, weather stripping, rigid foam insulation, or sealants for windows and doors to cover potential entry points and prevent leaks.
  • Ensure Electrical Safety: Please inspect all exposed electrical conduits to verify the condition i.e. sockets, switches, wiring, and plugs, to ensure they are in good shape and adequately protected.
